Church Covenant

Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and having publicly professed our faith and been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we now — in the presence of God, His holy angels, and this assembly — solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

By the aid of the Holy Spirit, we commit to:

  • Walk together in Christian love — caring for one another as members of Christ’s body.
  • Build up our church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort, promoting its prosperity and spiritual vitality.
  • Support its worship and doctrine faithfully, giving Christ’s church first place above all human institutions.
  • Give cheerfully and regularly for the support of ministry, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel to all nations.
  • Maintain personal and family devotions and provide a Christian education for our children.
  • Seek the salvation of others — beginning with our own relatives and friends.
  • Watch over one another in love, pray for each other, and be ready to help in times of sickness or distress.

Statement of Faith

A. The Holy Scriptures

We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, and the final authority for all matters of faith and life. The King James Version shall be the official and only translation used by this church. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21)

B. Dispensationalism

We believe God’s plan for history unfolds in distinct dispensations, or stewardships, which are not different ways of salvation but reveal God’s purposes for each age. (Genesis 1:28; Ephesians 1:10; Colossians 1:24-27)

C. The Godhead

We believe in one true God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power, glory, and nature. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; John 14:10, 26)

D. The Person and Work of Christ

  • Incarnation: Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, born of the virgin Mary.
  • Sacrifice: He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins and rose physically from the dead for our justification.
  • Exaltation: He ascended into heaven where He serves as our High Priest, Intercessor, and Advocate.

(Isaiah 7:14; John 1:1-2, 14; Romans 3:24-25; Acts 1:9-10)

E. The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

  • Convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, and seals them until the day of redemption.
  • Teaches and enables believers to live Spirit-filled lives.
  • Distributes spiritual gifts for ministry; sign gifts were temporary and confirmed the message of Christ.

(John 16:8-11; Ephesians 1:13-14; I Corinthians 13:8; 14:21-22)

F. The Total Depravity of Man

Man was created in God’s image but fell into sin through Adam, becoming spiritually dead and unable to save himself. (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3)

G. Salvation

Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins. (Ephesians 2:8-10; I Peter 1:18-19)

H. Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers

The redeemed are kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ forever. This assurance motivates holy living, not sinful behavior. (John 10:27-30; Romans 8:38-39)

I. The Church

The local church is the body and bride of Christ, made up only of born-again believers, practicing baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Acts 2:41-42; I Corinthians 11:23-26)

J. Separation

Believers are called to live in a way that honors Christ, avoiding sinful influences and false doctrine. (Romans 12:1-2; II Corinthians 6:14-17)

K. The Second Advent of Christ

Christ will return to rapture His Church before the seven-year Tribulation and will later return with His saints to establish His Kingdom. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-16)

L. The Eternal State

The saved will enjoy eternal life with God; the unsaved will face eternal punishment. (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29)

M. The Personality of Satan

Satan is a real being, the author of sin, the enemy of God and man, and will be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. (Job 1:6-7; Revelation 20:10)

N. Creation

God created the universe in six literal 24-hour days. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, and Theistic Evolution. (Genesis 1-2; Exodus 20:11)

O. Civil Government

God has ordained three institutions — the home, the church, and the state — each with specific biblical responsibilities, answerable to God. (Romans 13:1-7; I Peter 2:13-14)

P. Human Sexuality and Family

  • Sexual intimacy belongs only within marriage between one man and one woman.
  • Men and women are equal in value but have distinct God-ordained roles in the home and church.
  • The family is the foundational institution of society; parents are to raise children in the nurture of the Lord.

(Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-33; 6:1-4)

Q. Divorce and Remarriage

Marriage is intended to last for life; divorce and remarriage are only permitted on scriptural grounds. (I Corinthians 7:10-15, 39)

R. Sanctity of Life

  • Abortion: Life begins at conception; abortion is the taking of innocent human life.
  • Euthanasia: Only God has the authority to end life; assisted suicide is prohibited.
  • Capital Punishment: The state has God-given authority to carry out justice in capital cases.

(Psalm 139:13-16; Exodus 20:13; Romans 13:1-6)

S. Love

Christians are commanded to love others — believers and unbelievers — with grace, humility, and patience, while rejecting sinful actions. (John 13:34-35; Romans 12:9-10)

T. Missions

The Church is commissioned to proclaim the Gospel to all nations, seeking to make disciples everywhere. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)

U. Lawsuits Between Believers

Disputes between Christians should be resolved within the Church, not in civil courts, except for insurance claims pursued without malice. (I Corinthians 6:1-8)

V. Giving

Christians are stewards of God’s provision and should give tithes and offerings cheerfully to support the Church, help the needy, and spread the Gospel. (Malachi 3:10; II Corinthians 9:6-7)
